Oh My Goodness!!! 3 days

Ok... so it's called an ArcTrainer, and I really love it. The program that I did today worked in intervals. Warm up, intense / recovery (repeat), cool down.
30 minutes
349 calories
Then I got on the recumbant bike for another 10 minutes and killed another 60 caloies.
Not bad for today's work :0)

2 days in a Row!!!

I know... hold your hat! Monday AND Tuesday. Maybe I've started a roll :0)
Anyway...
I went the 2 mile route that Kathy gave me from my house up and out to 102nd, up Yorkshire to 98th, down to 40th, back to 102nd and use Dobbin back to my house. 2 miles.
So I...
Walked all the way to Yorkshire.
Ran all of Yorkshire.
Walked 98th.
Ran all of 40th. and
Walked the rest of the way home.
So while I was doing it I thought that I was running so much ... I was sure that it was more than I had done before... so I hop in my car when I get home to check the distance and realized that Yorkshire and 40th are 0.5 miles each and I ran only about as much as I had done on the treadmill. (a little bit of a let down)
BUT still I did it.

As Promised

Well I procrastinated it till the last possible moment...but I did workout today!!! So I went to the gym tonight and spent 20 minutes on this strange machine that I really liked. It's not an eliptical, but that is as close as I can come to describing it. It is the motion of running... all the bouncing of running (lucky me) but no impact. So I spent 20 minutes and burned 200 calories. I was wasted after those 20 minutes but did a couple of laps around the track and called it a night.

Long time no Work outs

So...Hi there!
I know, I know, I know! I have slacked in the worst possible sense. I really want to follow that statement with a BUT ... but I have no excuse for last weeks behavior. Or of Monday's behavior for that matter.
I did however get back on the horse (as it were) today. As ALWAYS I spent my Tuesday evening watching The Biggest Loser. I am a total addict. Anyway... I decided that I would use that 2 hour block to get my workout in. So during every Commercial break I was stepping and sweating on the BOSU ball. All in all I put in about a half an hour in short spurts. It really had me sweating and breathing hard. I have no idea how many calories it burned but I feel pretty good about it.

Also on the food front. I have made some progress there. I have been successful for the last few days (it may actually be a week) in not eating after 7 p.m. I am really realizing how many calories I was eating just before I was going to bed. Just in time for them to distribute themselves equally across my backside :0) So I really feel good about that. My next hurdle with food is choosing good (healthy) choices for the hours that I do eat.

Running day

Finally victory over the morning!!! I have such a hard time getting out of bed in the morning to get my workout in. I really love staying in bed as long as possible! It's a weakness of mine. However... thanks to my adoreable Mother... I was able to get up this morning and get going. She is a morning person by nature and said she would be willing to come downstairs and turn on my lights for me so I am more motivated to get out of bed. The darkness of the morning is a real sticking place for me... it still feels like night. Anyway...IT WORKED! (Thanks Mom!)
So here's this mornings run down:

2 miles
252 calories
35 minutes

¼ mile walking 3.0
¼ mile running 4.0
¼ mile walking 3.5
½ mile running 4.3
¼ mile walking 3.0
¼ mile running 4.0
¼ mile walking 3.0

Non-treadmill day

So today is a non treadmill day. I spent 30 minutes doing a workout video that uses my BOSU dome. Holy Crap! it really had me sweating. I wasn't able to complete the workout on the dome...some of it I did just on the floor behind that ball, but that gives me something to work up to.

Lacking Motivation

1.5 miles
180 calories
26 minutes
¼ mile walking 3.5
½ mile running 4.0
¾ mile walking 3.5
So... this is really hard for me. I am struggling for any kind of motivation right now. I know that I am "training" for the Butte to Butte...but tonight while I was on the couch watching TV I was not thinking of the Butte to Butte. All I could think of was how tired I was. If Sherrill had not badgered me into it I would not have done it tonight. I have to find something within myself that is going to push me.

It's not what I wanted...but at least it's something

9:15 PM
1 mile
130 calories
18 minutes
¼ walking at 3.5
¼ running at 4.0
¼ walking a 3.5
¼ running at 4.5
I'm frustrated that I didn't go the whole time but I totally let myself get distracted.
Like I said...at least it's something. I have to take small victories where I can find them.

Day One... training for the Butte to Butte

I have been putting this off! But I really want to run in the Butte to Butte this year. I have wanted to do this since I lived there growing up…but I always chose to do other things…things that made my body more sedentary and less active.

But No More!

This is the year that I will get ready and run it!

So we are starting from square one.
Treadmill workout:
2 miles
244 calories
33 minutes
¼ mile walking at 3.5
¼ mile running at 4.0
¼ mile walking at 3.0 for half & 3.5 for half
¼ mile running at 4.2
¼ mile walking at 3.0 for half & 3.5 for half
¼ mile running at 4.2
¼ mile walking at 3.0 for half & 3.5 for half
The last ¼ mile I ran at 4.0 for only half the time and walked the rest

So there we are.

New Adventure!

Hi! And welcome to my Blog!
My name is Hilary and I have made a commitment to make some positive changes to my body! So I know that lots of folks do blogs about their families… I am doing one about my fitness journey. I’m going to add pictures and feelings and what I am doing daily to reach my goals!

I have struggled my entire life with wanting my body to be different from what I had made of it. I am learning that I have to accept the attributes that God gave me and work with those attributes to make them better…indeed, I would like to make them the best they can be.

So…I hope that what you find here is informative and that as a friend we can help each other reach our individual goals!
